Home Made Hummus with Sumac & Cayenne Pepper

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Dried Chickpeas, Soaked Overnight
  • 4 Garlic Cloves, Roasted
  • 1 Lemon, Juiced
  • 3 Tbsp. Tahini
  • 1 Tbsp. Sumac
  • 1 Tbsp. Cayenne Pepper
  • 1/2 Cup Olive Oil
  • 1/4 Cup Water
  • 1 Tsp. Sesame Seeds
  • Salt, To Taste

Cooking Method

  1. After soaking the dried chickpeas overnight, bring a saucepan full of water to the boil, add the chickpeas and boil for approx. 45 minutes.
  2. Once the chickpeas are done add the to a food processor and add in all the remaining ingredients and process until it has reached the consistency you like (I like it still with some texture and not quite smooth)
  3. Taste the hummus and add salt to taste. To serve sprinkle some sumac, cayenne pepper and sesame seeds on top and a drizzle of olive oil.
