Home Made Hummus with Sumac & Cayenne Pepper
- 1 Cup Dried Chickpeas, Soaked Overnight
- 4 Garlic Cloves, Roasted
- 1 Lemon, Juiced
- 3 Tbsp. Tahini
- 1 Tbsp. Sumac
- 1 Tbsp. Cayenne Pepper
- 1/2 Cup Olive Oil
- 1/4 Cup Water
- 1 Tsp. Sesame Seeds
- Salt, To Taste
- After soaking the dried chickpeas overnight, bring a saucepan full of water to the boil, add the chickpeas and boil for approx. 45 minutes.
- Once the chickpeas are done add the to a food processor and add in all the remaining ingredients and process until it has reached the consistency you like (I like it still with some texture and not quite smooth)
- Taste the hummus and add salt to taste. To serve sprinkle some sumac, cayenne pepper and sesame seeds on top and a drizzle of olive oil.
