Homemade Sushi

Homemade Sushi

Ingredients

  • Sushi Rice
  • Your choice of your favourite fillings
  • Seaweed
  • Soy Sauce
  • Pickled Ginger

Cooking Method

  1. Follow the instructions on your sushi rice packet to cook the rice. Once cooked, even the rice out onto a tray to cool and add in some rice wine vinegar and a small amount of brown sugar (dissolve this in the vinegar) and then pour over the rice and mix through.
  2. Allow the rice to fully cool and then you can begin rolling up some sushi! You can do this with a rolling mat but I normally find it easier without it unless you are making the inside out ones then I use the mat so it all stays together.

You can get as creative as you want with these, I have made one here with very finely sliced cucumber as the outside wrapper which was delicious. I like to make a variety of types to mix it up and then you get a taste for everything... I LOVE SUSHI
